Did you know that April is “National Drummer Engagement Month”?

Ok, I just made that up; but our former drummer, Troy Foster, became engaged to Toni in April (during a Bearing Armor concert event) and our current drummer, Nikki Sanders, became engaged to Adam Braby in April. Therefore, it’s at least Bearing Armor Drummer Engagement Month. We are honored to know all of them. I presume both couples will have a somewhat traditional wedding with guests, a time of celebration and probably food. Some of us might even get invited. No promises.

I was reading about various wedding traditions, including Jewish traditions. I was amazed at the complexity of “getting married” and the associated rituals and/or traditions of the various ethnic backgrounds. I will not go into detail here because it will take too long for you to read everything I have read recently. But, rest assured, there are major differences and there are an infinite number of variations that individual couples can invoke. However, in each example, the wedding ceremony ended with food and celebration. The common denominator: FOOD.

That brings to mind a wedding feast some of us have been invited to, the marriage supper of the Lamb. In Revelation 19: 5-9, we read:

5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both[c] small and great!”

6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the[d] Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the MARRIAGE SUPPER [emphasis added] of the Lamb!’”

This passage may be totally symbolic, or it may be a literal feast, either way, if there is “food” it will be amazing. Many of you know, I don’t eat much – and I am somewhat a “picky-eater” but on that day, I believe that will all change. I will eat what is set before me with thanksgiving without complaint!

Wouldn’t you like to get an invitation to the greatest wedding feast in history?

You may be asking, “how can I get an invitation?”. You must be a child of God, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ ask Him to be your savior, ask Him to change you, and dedicate your life to Him. It’s an easy process but takes courage.

I’m looking forward to that day and want my friends and family to go with me. Are you ready to share in the greatest feast in history?
