Joe was born into a strict Sabbath keeping family. Although they were strict and only obeyed the Laws of the Old Testament, he recounts several loving moments. At 16 Joe ran from that way of thought and became well known in the secular Kansas City Music Scene. He met his wife at 17 and by 20 was a father and working man. One night, when he was 30, after a rough year, he found himself at the altar in church and he decided to follow Jesus, someone he never had met before. He soon started writing Christian music. At 45 Joe's 2 sons were moved out and he was able to start back in ministry.
In 2010, after a horrible construction accident, both his wrists were crushed and, so they thought, were his playing days, but God had different plans. He now has 90% of use of both his wrists and now he plays guitar for his home church, and has a unique style approach.
His Favorite saying is "God knew exactly what I would be doing in music"
